Revised Scheme Guidelines and Application Form Now Available

Bedding stewardship scheme guidelines version 2.0 is now available to give you full clarity on the ABSC product stewardship scheme

The industry has provided feedback and the ABSC has taken this on board and revised the Bedding Stewardship Scheme (The Scheme) Guidelines and the Application form. It is now an easier read with clear and concise points to inform stakeholders across your business of the benefits of being part of your industry Scheme and the commitments required of your organization to get on board.

The ABSC is committed to keeping more mattresses and bedding materials out of landfill and establishing a national recycling network for mattresses. We’ve done the hard yards together to develop a stewardship scheme that works for industry, government and consumers. Now it’s time for us to support your business to commit to the collection and pass through of the product stewardship fee making a serious contribution to a more sustainable future for the bedding industry.

How does the product stewardship fee work?

The Product Stewardship Fee (PSF) is $10 plus GST, and is applied by the supplier to the retailer and passed onto the consumer.

The fee is a contribution to finding solutions to the problems caused to the environment by end-of-life mattresses.

Each retailer may choose how to apply the fee across their own ranges as noted by the ACCC draft determination.

Did you know that 88% of consumers want brands to help them live sustainably and want you to help them make a difference?

* If your brand isn’t helping your consumers improve their environmental and social footprint, then you’re in danger of disappointing 88% of them.
